"You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father."
Matthew 5:14-16
Women can reach out themselves or be referred by a pregnancy center, church, individual, or other agency by calling 585.237.8644.
Women can come to Light House Station at any time in their pregnancy and stay in the home for up to 6 months following the birth of the baby. Light House Station also accepts post-partum women with infants under a month old.
While in residence, women will participate in counseling, education, Bible study, household chores, community living, practical classes such as parenting, job skills and budgeting.
Initial interviews will be conducted off-site to review expectations and application process.
Women will have the opportunity to learn crafts and life skills such as gardening, cooking and art. Individual service plans help residents set goals in areas of legal, financial, interpersonal, spiritual, educational and independent living.
Light House Station will assist the resident in transition out of the home by providing planning help, material support, agency referrals, and on-going counseling resources.
The Board of Light House Station works hard to ensure that the ministry has what it needs to serve the women whom God sends. The Board includes (Left to Right pictured) Todd Sutay (Founder), Sarah Sutay (Executive Director), Jennifer Young, Martha Woodruff, Susan Slocum, Pastor Michael Lang, and Kevin Gorton (Chairman).
